Mojang's Scrolls Launches in Open Beta Today, $20 Gets You Access

Mojang is best known for its indie blockbuster Minecraft but today marks the launch of the open beta for its new game, Scrolls. It's been a long-running wait and the title was the topic of a court battle. Notch would have loved to talk about the initial roadblocks in a rocket-filled arena. Multiplayer servers While it's admittedly not "feature complete," you can test your card-fighting skills in informal and ranked online matches. The card trading forum is up and running and so is the in-game store to build your deck with gold that you earn through winning, and "shards" purchased using real money. The builder is a tool to customize your deck and there are 25 demo versions to help you learn strategy. The open beta is $20, PS13 or 15 euros, but actually you're purchasing the complete game early, as the future updates will be free for beta adopters. Multiplayer servers Although the purchase page isn’t yet live, it will be available for Mac and PC at some point. If you'd like to learn more about the mechanicsof the game, go to the source link.
