Teenager Arrested over Mass School Bomb Hoax

A teenage boy believed to be at the centre of the Minecraft gamers squabble has been detained following an attack on a massive bomb shut down hundreds of colleges and schools across the UK.

The 19-year-old was detained by Hertfordshire police after more than 24,000 threats were sent to schools warning of imminent bomb attacks if cash wasn't handed over.

The emails appear to be sent by VeltPvP which is a gaming network. VeltPvP is an Minecraft player-versus-player server, which is the type of server that businesses utilize to sell products to gamers.

These emails were sent to disable VeltPvP and were designed to cause the abuse of the domain to be terminated.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) declared that there was 'no credible threat to the emails' received this week.

In the wake of the hoax email bombs there were signs posted outside Cardinal Road School in Feltham

The dispute was based on the notion that rivals were involved in illegal activities to prevent one another from doing business.

"It's awful It's not the best thing', one of the hoaxers involved said when asked whether he regretted the effect the letters had had on the school students who were forced to leave.

The blame is being placed on VeltPvP, the hoaxer said VeltPvP was involved in a series of Direct Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks - which he claims were used to attempt to block other competitors' Minecraft servers.

Following the fake bomb email threat, parents were told to take their children home.

VeltPvP released a statement that stated that they were being hounded and hounded by cybercriminals.

We're sorry for anyone who had to deal with this, but just know it's not real.'

The email was sent to more than 400 schools and colleges across the nation. It claimed that the bomb was already planted and that it could explode if the money wasn't given.

Cardinal Road School, Feltham, West London was one of the schools that received the fake email.

Police forces in London, Bristol, Liverpool, Bedfordshire and the the North East were among those investigating.

Some parents requested to be allowed to pick up their children from school amid concerns over the emails.

While six schools across Hertfordshire were also affected: Abbots Hill in Hemel Hempstead, Valley School in Stevenage, The Sele School in Hertford, Duncombe School in Hertford, Stanborough School in Watford and St Albans High School.
